Northwest PV were the successful contractor in August 2019 to supply and fit an 11kW, 36no. photovoltaic panel array to the rooftop area of the County House, Lifford, Co. Donegal. This project was part grant funded through the SEAI’s Better Energy Communities scheme.
There were complications with this project due to access limitations, the age of the building fabric, confirmations regarding structural support and time restrictions to complete and commission. Northwest PV partnered with a registered structural engineer, certified electricians and CSCS trained operatives to ensure Donegal County Councils project concerns were addressed. The project was completed in time, within budget and to the specification requirements of both Donegal County Council and the SEAI.
Donegal County Council were very satisfied with Barry Sharkey and Northwest PV’s professionalism, enthusiasm and attention to detail from procurement stage right through to commissioning and handover of the project Safety File. The 11kW, 36no. PV array is currently on course to providing Donegal County Council with an estimated annual generation of 8,350 kilo Watt hours (kWh) of electricity per annum.
